Set a new standard for war movies - Saving Private Ryan Reviews

In terms of special effects and giving the audience the genuine feel for being in the chaos of battle, Saving Private Ryan raised the bar several levels. I dearly miss the funny Tom Hanks, but serious Tom Hanks is an incredible actor with amazing versitility. All characters center stage characters were excellent and the general historical value is there (though I'm not sure about the actual mission). On a bad side, the Nazi who was let go only to come back was a bit of an annoying try-to-be-ironic part, but it doesn't get any better (or worse) than the 10 minute battle to begin the movie. Utter Carnage.
